What should Real Madrid do ?

My Madrid, the club for which I sray up every week, the club that I really believe in. My affair with madrid started with the Champions League final of 2000, when I was in Paris and was witness to some of the best football I have ever seen, and the brilliance of Raul decided where my allegiances lie for the rest of my life. This love affair was further cemented when Zidane moved to Madrid.
Not progressing beyond the final 16 in the champions league over the past 5 years is a concern, is it a reason to push yhe panic button ? Hell yeah !!!!! No champions league for Madrid in the past 5 years ? This is ridiculous.
So what caused all this ?? People point to the fall of the galactico era and the rise of a new team, but the root of the problem lies in a lack of team spirit. Teams like Madrid rely a lot on foreign stars bought for exorbitant sums and pays ridiculously high wages. Please note that I'am not against this high spending or player buying, but building a divide between the youth team products and players bought is the the real problem. The Zidanes y Pavones policy of Perez flopped really badly, for all that the galacticos were hyped up to be, they never really lived upto the mark. Also this period from 2000 -04 marked the departure of some of the best talent of the Castilla eg. Etoo and Cambiasso.
What is the remedy to all of this ?? First and foremost Pedja Mijahtovic must be fired.
This is how I would love Madrid to lineup next season.

Maicon would be good buy for Madrid as our style jas always involved the use of explosive full backs in Salgado and Roberto Carlos. This would also give Sergio Ramos who growing in the mould of a future Hierro more time to focus on center back duties where I fell he is at his best.
Unlike others, I do beleive Metzelder is a good defender and a good backup, but not a starter. I can't wait for Madrid to get Garay from Santander, he is a tremendous prospect for the future.
Coming to the midfeild, i beleive its time for Guti to go, and want the Dutch duo to stay. Lass, Gago form a strong holding midfield, though only one should be used in the match as both of them are not really creative. Gago passses well while Lass is Makelele so an opponent which relies on a deep lying midfield passing to strikers requires a Lass to cut those passes while an attacking midfield leaving spaces behind it to exploit would be a perfect setting to use Gago.
Sneijder is on my favourites in Madrid. He is no Kaka, but he is a workhorse, contributes everywhere and wherever he plays. He is one of the best dead ball specialists and good passsing ability. Playing off the holding mid feilders is perfect for him from where he can distribute the ball well and also, he can kick with both feet !!!
De la Red is one of the best Castilla products to come out in the recent years. He has a pile driver of a shot and a great ball sense.
Van Der Vaart has probably the best left foot in world football today. Gourcuff is a must for me. He is the future and would relish playing of a powerful central midfield player.
Parejo is the future Guti. But he needs a few years to grow.
The attack will be lead by Hutelaar up front, a poacher, a great target man. Benzema would also excel in this role.
The other choices are obvious. Tevez is brilliant and he is available this summer. He is a must add to this squad,

My First One !!!!!

As I write this one I'am flippin through various channels at 10 in the morning on a Sunday in Bangalore which I beleive is the height of joblessness. I promised myself that I would start P90X from today and I am going to do that right after my first post.
So, this is my blog. How did I get into this ? I really don't know. From being a guy who hated them a few years to one becoming a part of this is a totally unplanned move.
I hope to put some of my thoughts on various matters such as relegion, the world at large, music, movies and about football on this page.
So here is to fun in writting this and hope for you having fun in reading this !!!!
